November Favorites 2016

Hello there everyone!

I know I skipped a month of favorites but the truth is I was just too busy to blog at all! SO here’s of the entire month of November! I had some good ones this month so be prepared to be in awe.

RECIPE:

I have been super busy recently so cooking a full meal was a treat. Usually I scroll through Pinterest to find a recipe that I have never tried before but I was optimistic and wanted to revisit something that I hadn’t made in a while. My best friend and I found a wonderful recipe about two years ago; neither of us have made it since then. It is definitely more of a summer flavored dish but I don’t care because its delicious!

This was my own twist of Jessica Merchant’s recipe of Honey Chipotle Chicken Bowls with Lime Quinoa. Good gosh I’m drooling just thinking of this recipe.

Jessica’s recipe calls for three tablespoons of adobo sauce from the can of chipotle chile peppers. Well I’m a little bitch when it comes to spicy foods so I substituted the adobo sauce for three-ish tablespoons of sweet chile sauce. It adds just the right amount of kick to the dish!

Head over to How Sweet It Is for the full recipe! However, I’ll be posting my version of Jessica’s recipe here soon!

MUSIC:

I’m keeping with my trend to country music favorites for this month. You know I always have to choose a well-known, popular artist and then a second not so well-known artist. But this month I am focusing on one really great artist! Recently I have been LOVING Frankie Ballard’s newest album El Rio; especially his song L.A. Woman. Let’s be honest here, the guitar riffs and the thundering drums make the song what it is. Frankie’s husky voice is like a thousand angels singing to me.

I guess we could classify him as a “newer” artist but then again, I am proud of this man ad where he has come! I still remember finding him on Youtube years ago when he was just starting out!

BEAUTY:

If you’re a makeup junkie like myself, you probably started out in the makeup aisles in Walmart wondering where to start. Lots of us probably went through the raccoon eye phase where our eyeliner was too heavy and our eyeshadows creased halfway through the day. Sound familiar? Yeah? Same girl. Eyeliner is one of those things that I became really good at; I can make a winged eyeliner so sharp it can take off and fly. I am constantly getting compliments on my makeup nowadays so its a consistent confidence boost and reassurance that my makeup doesn’t look like a raccoon just woke up.

Anyways, my tried and true eyeliner to share with you, I present to you the Stila Stay All Day Waterproof Liquid Eyeliner in jet black.

(You’ll have to excuse my unbearable eyebrows; they were way overdue for a wax!)

This eyeliner has bee my absolute favorite for almost three years now. I have repurchased this product too many times to count. In my experience, each eyeliner lasts up to 6 months. The liner glides across my eyelid so effortlessly and that is what I love about it. The color is completely opaque and a true black. This shit literally will not move even if I rub my eyes! So ladies, don’t be afraid to cry because this eyeliner will give you hope at the end of it all!

HOME:

Of course I have to talk about candles and wax tarts! What’s even better about this month’s favorite is that it is Harry Potter themed. My sister got me a couple packs of wax tarts and I have been burning them all month long! The two scents I have been burning are  Headmaster’s Office and Wizardy Buttery Drink from Frostbeard Studios. I have the soy tarts and one of my roommates has the candle version of Headmaster’s office. The candles don’t smell like anything when they are lit but the tarts do! My roommate ended up chunking the candle up and melting it in a wax warmer and now you can smell it. So in other words, get the tarts not the candles! If you are a book nerd, then you’ll just about keel over with happiness when you see what other themed candles and tarts they have!

TV:

If you are a regular reader of my blog you will probably know what my TV favorite of November is. Last month I mentioned how I was binge watching Gilmore Girls and how I was anticipating Gilmore Girls: A Year in the Life.

My roommates were ecstatic to see me finish Gilmore Girls. All four of them knew when I was watching the show because I’d sing along to the theme song for every…single…episode. Let’s get back on track, towards the end of November Netflix released Gilmore Girls: A Year in the Life and I was living for it. The moment I heard the opening music I started to tear up. I loved every bit of it minus the singing and dancing parts about the town. That was just straight up weird and unnecessary. I, unlike a lot of people, was filled with joy to see that they included the Life and Death Brigade. This was one of my favorite things about the original series so to see it back was wonderful.

Gilmore Girls – Season 5

This revival brought me so many tears and laughs and I CANNOT wait for a second season. Netflix needs to renew it for a second season since there are many, many unanswered questions. You can’t just leave a cliffhanger the way they did; who is the father of Rory’s baby?

P.S. Team Logan, Dean, or Jess? Can you guess what team I am on! I didn’t leave you with many hints to give it away!

“In Omnia Paratus”

This wraps up another month of favorites. I am now back on track so until next month everyone!

Any questions? Comments? Concerns? Leave them all below if so!
